About Deephouse Landscaping

Daniel Deephouse specializes in the design, construction, and long-term care of outdoor landscapes, with a focus on gardens, ponds, and integrated living systems.
He works with residential, private estate, and select commercial clients throughout Southern California to create and maintain landscapes that prioritize plant health, clarity of structure, and thoughtful, site-specific solutions.
A key element of Daniel’s practice is niwaki, the Japanese method of training and pruning garden trees to enhance their natural form within the landscape. Rather than decorative trimming, niwaki is used as a long-term horticultural approach that supports healthy growth and visual balance.
Daniel’s approach emphasizes water-wise design and ecologically responsible practices, guided by a reduce, reuse, recycle, and upcycle philosophy.
